I Love to Read Week Packed with Activity…

I love to read week was a great success!!

We enjoyed dropping everything and reading, getting a sweet snack, decorating bookmarks, cuddling up with our blankets/stuffies, and ending the week with a book parade dressed up as our book characters!

A special thanks goes out to the reading week organizers!

As part of our “Cozy Up with a Book” day, some of our kindergarten classes were lucky to welcome local author Justin McNamee, who shared a reading of his book, The Adventures of Tippy and Dash: Ready, Set, Gold!.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. McNamee for his time, generosity, and for his thoughtful book donations, which will be enjoyed by our students.

For I love to read week classes 3C and 4C participated in an author talk with Dav Pilkey the author of Dogman. They enjoyed seeing his new project that is coming out soon and listening to him read part of one of his books. He also drew one of his characters during the book talk. It was a fun way to learn about the process of reading stories and also neurodiversity. He was open about his own dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It was a great way for students to tie I Love To Read and neurodiversity together.

Our Grade 5 students enjoyed an inspiring author visit from Kern Carter focused on the expectations young people face—both from within themselves and from the world around them. Through personal stories, Kern shared how these expectations can either lift us up or hold us back, and introduced strategies for managing them in positive ways. Students also learned about the Kern’s journey to success and how life experiences shaped his path along the way.

Happy Administrative Professionals Day!

Thank you Ms. Charmaine, Ms. Randi & Ms. Christine for everything you do for the whole school we appreciate you SO much!

St. Will at Arts Fest

St. Willibrord’s choir, with Mrs. Erin, absolutely shined at NFSB’s ArtsFest! We’re so incredibly proud of our amazing and talented students for representing our school with so much star power, confidence and St. Will pride! Way to go!

Grade 6 Career Exploration

Our Grade 6 students hosted a Career Fair at school! Students invited family members and friends to share insights about their careers.

Our students had the opportunity to learn about a wide range of professions, including accounting, IT, hairstyling, the police force, and many more. They showed great curiosity, asked thoughtful and meaningful questions, and truly engaged with each presenter.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting a police dog named Storm, which made the experience even more exciting and memorable!

It was a wonderful learning experience for everyone involved. A big thank you to all of our volunteers for taking the time to inspire and support our students in their learning!

Grade 2 Cooperation & Teamwork at HSB

Our Grade 2 students enjoyed an exciting field trip to Howard S. Billings High School where they were welcomed for a morning of fun and games! With the help of enthusiastic high school students, the children participated in a variety of active and cooperative games that encouraged teamwork, laughter, and new friendships. A big thank you to the high school staff and students for making the day so memorable!

Earth Day

Thank you to all the students who participated in cleaning up our schoolyard and front yard on earth day. It was a beautiful day and the students truly enjoyed cleaning up and making a difference for our planet

To introduce a new unit of study on the environment, students in classes 5A and 5B received an interactive workshop today entitled “Gère ta Poubelle” from presenters from our local Île Saint-Bernard. Students learned all about what goes into our recycling, composting, and garbage sorting.

Game Day Spirit

Heading into a playoff game, all students and staff were invited to show their support by wearing their Montreal Canadiens apparel! Don’t have any? No problem! Rock your red, white, or blue instead!

We filled the school with team spirit and cheered them on together! Go Habs Go!
